I don't have too much time left until I leave for the airport, only like an hour!!! Thought I'd quickly post something before I leave though, so you don't think I have abandoned you for good. I fly from SFO to Dubai and stay there for 15 hours. Luckily Dubai has a really nice airport and nice hotels to stay at IN the airport! So I'm kind of excited to get a little peak into the UAE. I'll have to go one day, but for now, I will only have 15 hours to explore and recoup for my next flight from Dubai to Nairobi. THEN I go from Nairobi to Kilimanjaro. I pray that I get to the volunteer house safely! Other than that, I'm pretty excited to go sit on a plane, read my little heart out and be fed completely mediocre food for 16 hours. My bag is filled to the brim and I hope it makes it on without being over weight, I have my fingers crossed!!!
I can't wait to get on the ground and start learning the culture and meeting people. It will be a long, wild ride, but an exciting one!!! Thanks to generous donations from my friends and family, I've raised almost $1,000 dollars to help out the children that I will be volunteering with. It feels great to not only be able to get to know these beautiful little children, but also to give them more than just my love. While love and attention is incredibly important for these orphaned children, its encouraging to know that I will be able to put shoes on their feet as well.
